1-25-21 Indian River
The ice fishing on Burt Lake is officially started. Over the last week the cold night temperatures have given us about 6" of good ice. The fish are being caught in a variety of ways. Tip ups with shiners are doing very well, dead rods are also producing when laying close to a actively worked jig rod. It seems that jigging brings them into the area and the dead stick or tip up catches the fish. Make sure you have a lively bait as it really ups the catching. Big perch and walleye are all hitting the same stuff.
