Manistee Area Fishing Report

As November has truly set in and the snow starts to fly steelhead fishing continues to get better everyday. Most people this time of year in Northwest Michigan are thinking deer hunting but our minds at Fire Plug Charters are set on steelhead. Float fishing has been the best techniques used on the big Manistee and Pere Marquette river systems. Beads still seem to be the best presentation, 8 and 10mm in natural orange and dead egg patterns. Steelhead are starting to make their way into deeper holding water and out of the transition areas.
We have weekends and weekdays available from now through March so give us a call if you’d like to book a trip to try your hand at these amazing fish.
