Field reporter Kevin Dwyer, fished houghton lake middle grounds area in waters 12-14ft…used marcum to find some good cabbage weed areas and edges and holes in weeds….moved around quite a bit to find scattered mix of fish …spoons were my go to bait with minnows…only pile on my dead sticks…was searching just for walleye these past few days. There's definitely fish available to those who are willing to aggressively work and look in an around the weed edges. Tip up town should prove to be a very enjoyable time as it seems like the fish are there to be caught.
