1-2-22 Detroit River
We had awesome fishing today on the Detroit River for perch. For all those looking to learn how to do this better, I've included and some photos of how I set up my rigs. I find the 3 way rig works best for subtle bites when dead sticking
They fish are in shallow water, moving in 5-10ft.
If you work around islands and cuts there will most likely be perch in there.
The old timer I talked to at the ramp said they were using small panfish assassin plastics under a slip bobber. Him and his buddy limited out as well.
I used minnows on all 3 of my rigs, I always hook through the back tail. More action that way when they are alive. Now for the perch talker rig - just use a minnow head on the treble and works wonders.. let it fall to bottom and give a few twitches and wait. Thanks for An awesome guest report.
