Here’s a current fishing report for the lower AuSable River.
The current odd weather has prolonged the usual spring steelhead run on the lower AuSable River. Currently water temps are around 39-40 degrees. Fresh fish continue to enter the river system daily. In addition to steelhead, several Atlantic salmon have recently been caught. Tactics vary depending on fishing location on the river. Around the river mouth, many have success floating walleye minnows below bobbers. Up river , floating spawn and hot shotting body baits in the deep runs have produced many great catches. Popular plugs gave been the Mag Lips 3.0 in the green pirate pattern and copper mine .
