Houghton Lake, Higgins Lake and Lake St. Helen Fishing
You are sure to find “Four Seasons of Fun” here in Houghton Lake, located in Central Lower Michigan. Surrounding Lakes include Higgins Lake and Lake St. Helen. All of these beautiful lakes are well known as sportsman’s fishing lakes. Houghton Lake is our largest of the three lakes encompassing a total of 22,000 acres of fresh water. Well known for walleye, pike, bass, and bluegill, fishermen can expect a good deal of success here. There are seven access sites around the lake, making it easy to get in and go fishing!
Higgins Lake Fishing
Higgins Lake has over 10,000 acres of fresh water to offer with lake trout, pike, bass, perch, small mouth bass, along with rainbow trout. Lake St. Helen is the smallest lake with 2,390 acres of fresh water to fish. Species include northern pike, largemouth bass and northern pike. You can also get some rock bass, bluegill, walleye!
Michigan Ice Fishing
Ice fishing is a must while in the area. Certainly this is a great getaway, every area of the lake as tremendous opportunities for fishing, probably one of the best in Michigan. Every year there is a big fishing contest held every weekend between specific dates in July through March (please visit our website for details).
